Three raiwater tanks supply the False Bay Ecology Park centre with all its fresh water need. From the tanks the water is pumped into the building with the pumps on the right of the photo.
The small box (Rain Runner) mounted inline with gutter down pipe sieves the rainwater before it enters the rainwater tanks. After the rainwater has been sieved it is safe for indoor use.
The rain runner is a self cleaning unit that is installed in every down pipe.
Water Rhapsody rainwater harvesting pumps at False Bay Ecology Centre, Cape Town. These pumps will provide the building with all it’s fresh water needs
False Bay Ecology centre on the bank of Zeekoei Vlei in Cape Town is fitted with a grey water sanitation system. The Water Rhapsody Second Movement system will be saving fresh water by reusing the wash water from showers and hand basins and using it to flush toilets.
A mini toilet at the Old Mutual Green School fitted with a Water Rhapsody Second Movement grey water sanitation system.
By pressing the the switch on the wall behind the toilet the toilet flushes. Once the switch is released the toilet stops flushing. This allows for optimum use of the grey water and saves the school many litres of fresh water.
As you can see there is no cistern as the grey water is pumped directly from the pump chamber to the toilet pan.
In apartment building this type of system could save about 45% of the total fresh water consumption and as the grey water (wash water) is recycled and reused for toilet flushing it dramatically reduces municipal sewage charges.
Grey water irrigation system can discreetly be installed in flowerbeds. As the plants around the pump chamber grew they will hide the pump housing more and more. As Water Rhapsody grey water systems require very little maintenance the plants can grow uninhibited while being water by the pump.

Against a global rainfall average of 870mm per year, South Africa receives a pitiful 450mm, making it the worlds 30th driest country. Water Rhapsody, with 16 years experience in water conservation, is number 1 in South Africa in Grey water recycling systems and Rainwater harvesting systems.
